AI receptionist for dentists
The front desk is checking a patient in, the phones ring during lunch, and after five the line goes to voicemail. A new patient who reaches voicemail often calls the next office on the list. The receptionist answers those calls on your number, books the visit and hands the rest to your team.
What it does for a dental office
- Answers new-patient calls: takes the name, number and reason for the visit, and books an open time
- Hands insurance and billing questions to your team as a message, without guessing at coverage
- Books, moves and confirms appointments from your calendar
- After hours, sends a patient with pain or swelling to your on-call number, or takes a message
- Texts you a summary of every call, with the transcript to read

An example call.
Maple Street Dental and the caller are made up. Tuesday, 7:12 pm, after the line would have gone to voicemail.
- Receptionist
- Thanks for calling Maple Street Dental. I’m an automated assistant, and this call is recorded. How can I help?
- Caller
- Hi, I’m new to the area and looking for a dentist. Do you take new patients?
- Receptionist
- Yes. Is this for a cleaning and checkup, or is something bothering you?
- Caller
- Just a cleaning. Do you take Delta Dental?
- Receptionist
- I’ll have the office confirm your plan before the visit. The first opening for a new-patient cleaning is Thursday at 9 am. Would that work?
- Caller
- Thursday at 9 is fine.
- Receptionist
- Booked for Thursday at 9 am. You’ll get a text with the address, and the office will call tomorrow about your insurance.

Questions from dentists
- Does it answer insurance questions?
- It takes the caller’s plan and question and passes them to your team as a message. It does not tell a patient what is covered, since only your office can check that.
- What happens with a dental emergency after hours?
- You decide what counts as urgent with us before launch. Those calls transfer to your on-call number; if nobody picks up, it takes a message and texts you straight away.
- Does it work with our practice software?
- We build for Google Calendar and Cal.com. If you book in practice management software, we confirm what it can connect to before quoting; otherwise it takes the request and your team books it.
